Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
People who know me well tend to describe me as warm, accepting and genuine. I'm also known to crack a joke and not take myself too seriously.
What I want you to feel in our work together is safety - and permission - to be a layered, complex individual for whom many things are true at once. You can be a high achiever and also struggle with your self esteem. You can be grieving and also grateful. You can be deeply hurt by people or systems - and also be resilient. You can feel ready to make change while also being fearful of it. In my 16 years in the field I have come to believe that these multiple truths co-existing in our experience is at the heart of what makes us human. Acknowledging those layers ultimately leads us to acceptance, change, or most likely - both.
My priority as a therapist is to show up as myself - both skilled and imperfect. My hope is that over time, this helps you to feel safe enough to be yourself too. With safety established, we can explore what you may need -whether that means developing new tools and strategies, changing behaviours or shifting your perspective.
When I am not at work, I am usually spending time with the people I love, laughing, travelling, exploring art and design and taking in the beauty of the natural world.
