Warm, real therapy for the moments life doesn't feel simple.
Offering OCD therapy and self-esteem therapy to clients across Toronto, delivered entirely online.
When "I'm fine" isn't the whole story.
Maybe you feel like you should have this figured out by now. Maybe things look fine from the outside, even though they don't always feel that way underneath. Or maybe you're just going through something hard and want support navigating it. Whatever brought you here, this is a space for real, honest work, without judgment about where you're starting from. I work with adults and young adults navigating OCD, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, relationship stress, and life's bigger transitions. My practice is fully virtual, so we can work together from wherever you are in Ontario.
Real Talk, Real Relationship
I believe the relationship we build together is the foundation of everything else. I'm warm, genuinely curious about people, and yes, I can be pretty funny and lighthearted too. Clients tell me they feel at ease with me quickly, safe enough to actually get into the stuff that matters. I'm not here to be the expert with all the answers, looking down at you from above. I bring real expertise and experience to our work together, I just don't believe that expertise has to come with distance. You'll get my knowledge, strategies, and yes, personal stories, delivered with warmth rather than authority.
Who I Work With
My clients come from all kinds of backgrounds and stages of life. Some are used to being the ones who have it together, and are surprised to find themselves needing support. Others have struggled with self-esteem or self-doubt for a long time, even when that's not obvious to the people around them. Wherever you're starting from, I see a lot of self-esteem and self-concept work, relationship and family dynamics, career stress, and perfectionism.
A lot of people come in saying some version of "I've been stressed" or "I think it would help to talk things through," without quite having language yet for what's underneath that. That's normal, and it's exactly where we start. My sessions don't feel formal or stiff. We usually start with a couple minutes of checking in, then I'll ask what needs our attention today. Sometimes you'll know right away, sometimes we'll figure it out together. Sessions tend to flow.
OCD Therapy in Toronto
If some of what you've been calling "anxiety" is starting to feel like something more specific, you might be right. I work with clients who are noticing patterns, compulsions, or intrusive thoughts that take up real time and mental energy. Often this is the first time they've talked about it with anyone. For OCD, I use ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the most evidence-based approach for treating it, and I work in a structured, goal-oriented way that's different from how I approach most of my other therapy work. If a thought like "I know this doesn't make sense, and yet I still feel like I have to do it" sounds familiar, this is a good place to start. In our second session together, we'll do a focused assessment (not a diagnosis) to understand the severity and nuance of what you're experiencing, so I can design a treatment plan built around you.
Self-Esteem Therapy in Toronto
A lot of my clients are high achievers on paper who still struggle with how they see themselves underneath it all. We work on your relationship with yourself: how you talk to yourself, how you handle failure, how you show up in relationships and at work when you don't feel like you measure up. Progress here often looks like setting a boundary you wouldn't have before, or noticing you're being kinder to yourself than you used to be. This work tends to be exploratory and client-led, moving at whatever pace makes sense for you.
Anxiety Therapy in Toronto
Most people come to me saying some version of "I've been stressed" or "I think it would help to talk things through," without quite having the language yet for what's underneath that. That's a completely normal place to start. Together we work on understanding your patterns of thought, building coping skills, and reframing the thoughts that keep you stuck, drawing on CBT along with self-compassion and mindfulness-based approaches. Many of my clients stay with me for years, and we move through life's milestones together: graduations, engagements, weddings, growing a family, career changes, loss. Others prefer shorter-term, more focused work, and that's just as welcome. We'll figure out together what pace and length actually fits what you need.
“"Our conversations make room for many things to be true, all at once. I call this ‘Both/And.’ Multiple truths can exist together, and that's not just normal, it's the essence of being human.”
How I Can Help
-
One-on-one, virtual sessions tailored to what you're actually going through, not a one-size-fits-all program. Available to clients across Ontario.
-
A structured, evidence-based approach for treating OCD, specifically Exposure and Response Prevention. If intrusive thoughts or compulsions are taking up real time and energy in your life, this is where we start. In our second session, we'll do a focused assessment (not a diagnosis) to understand the severity and nuance of what you're experiencing, so I can build a treatment plan around it.
-
Understanding the patterns of thought that keep you stuck and building real coping skills to shift them, using CBT along with self-compassion and mindfulness-based approaches.
-
Rebuilding your relationship with yourself: how you talk to yourself, how you handle failure, and how you show up in your life when you don't feel like you measure up.
-
Working through relationship stress, family patterns, and the dynamics that shape how you connect with the people closest to you.
-
Support through the moments that shake things up: a new job, a move, a big decision, or just the pressure of always being "on."
-
No forms, no back-and-forth emails, just a real conversation. I do these over video specifically because I want you to get a genuine feel for who I am and how I work, not just read about it on a page. It's a chance for us to actually meet, for you to ask questions, and for both of us to get a sense of whether we're a good fit, before you commit to anything.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is deeply informed by CBT, particularly when it comes to understanding the patterns of thought that keep people stuck. But I don't think CBT alone is enough to heal old relational hurts, so I also draw on EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and psychodynamic approaches, along with self-compassion and mindfulness based practices to help you build a kinder relationship with yourself. For OCD specifically, I use ERP, the structured, evidence-based approach that's most effective for treating it. With most clients, I'm exploratory and client-led. With OCD, I'm structured and goal-oriented, because that's what the work actually calls for.
About Naomi
Before private practice, I spent 8 years at a university counselling centre working with a wide range of young adults, which taught me crisis intervention and risk assessment skills I still carry with me, and gave me a deep respect for working across different identities, backgrounds, and life experiences without assumptions. I started seeing private clients back in 2016, one evening a week in a rented space, and built that up gradually over the years, through part-time office hours, then a mix of my own clients and group practice work, until I moved to seeing my own clients full-time in 2022. I mostly do longer-term work. Many of my clients have been with me for years, moving from weekly sessions to monthly check-ins as life allows, and coming back for extra support when something big happens.
What to Expect
Free video consultation
We'll hop on a video call for about 30 minutes. I'll ask a bit about what's bringing you to therapy right now, and you can ask me anything, about how I work, what sessions look like, whatever helps you decide. By the end, you'll have a real sense of whether this feels right, and so will I.
Your first appointment
Before we meet, you'll fill out an intake form. In our first session together, we'll do what I call a "life history," where you tell me about your childhood, family, and background, so we have shared context for everything we talk about after. From there, I'll guide our sessions together with you, checking in on what feels most important to focus on each time.
Ongoing work
Progress looks different for everyone, but often it shows up as setting a boundary you wouldn't have before, noticing you're speaking to yourself with more kindness, or realizing the anxious or OCD thoughts don't have the same grip they used to. It's rarely dramatic. It's usually quiet and cumulative, and then one day you notice how far you've come.
What’s the Next Step?
You'll probably know within the first few minutes of talking. That's why I do consultations over video instead of just a form or a quick email exchange, so you actually get a feel for me and how I work, not just words on a page. My clients tell me it's less about anything I say and more of a feeling, that they felt comfortable and safe with me from the outset. If you're ready to find out for yourself, book your free 30-minute video consultation today.
