Practice Frequently Asked Questions

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with adults and a small number of adolescents (though I’m unable to do so where high acuity or risk exist). I do not provide couples or family therapy. I have experience treating a wide range of clinical issues. Common presenting concerns are anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self esteem, life transitions, grief.

Where are you located?

My practice has been exclusively virtual since the beginning of the pandemic in May 2020. Prior to that I worked out of a number of clinics in downtown Toronto. We meet virtually via Zoom for Healthcare, which is compliant with Canadian privacy law.

What are your hours?

I see clients Tuesdays-Fridays. My hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 9:00-6:00 and Friday 9:00-3:00. I do not provide evening or weekend sessions at this time.

How do I get started with therapy?

If I am accepting new clients when you reach out, and I feel you may be a good fit to work with me, I will offer you a free initial consultation of  20-30 minutes, either by phone or video call. During this time we will briefly discuss your concerns and establish together whether we both feel we are a good fit to work together. During a consult, I may recognize that I am not able to meet your treatment needs. In that case, I will do my best to provide appropriate resources and referrals to help you get connected to another clinician.

What are the fees?

My fees are $195 per 50-55 minute session. This is comparable to members of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.  I reserve a small number of sliding scale spaces for those for whom fees are a barrier. Please ask me.

Will insurance cover my sessions?

Psychotherapeutic services are not covered by OHIP, but some extended benefit plans may cover (part or all) of the services of RPs. Please check with your insurance provider to find out.  I provide receipts following each session, which can then be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. I do not do any direct billing to insurance.
